We're Hiring! Director of Member Engagement & Organizing
The Director of Member Engagement and Organizing is a new senior role that will enhance and expand BEA’s work to build the capacity of current and future environmental justice leaders and champions, and to make the case for grass-roots centered policies and funding. The Director of Member Engagement and Organizing will develop and implement a strategy for engagement within and across our focus sectors: grassroots organizations, “Big Greens,” and funders. Externally, they will engage with relevant networks, coalitions, and campaigns to elevate grassroots priorities and needs. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Member Engagement and Organizing will become the seventh full-time member of our nimble and collaborative team and will support special projects where needed.
The ideal candidate is deeply grounded in the US environmental justice movement and has experience working in grassroots/frontline advocacy. They are a sophisticated strategist who understands how to create change through collaboration and cross-sector initiatives. They have excellent relationship development skills and are effective at building trust across culture, identity, and power.
