BEA brings together dynamic grassroots organizing groups, effective national green organizations, and innovators in philanthropy. We open dialogues on deep strategy and work to equitably expand the pool of resources for organizations achieving results on the frontlines.
Our current projects include:
- Launching the BEA Fund to expand the pool of resources available to grassroots organizations. Our goal is to shift $10 million to grassroots movements, though changing the culture of philanthropy and by raising funds to be re-granted by grassroots leaders.
- Publishing our From the Margins to the Mainstream case study on the efficacy of grassroots organizing, and how EJ leadership shaped the Clean Power Plan, which provides a model for us moving forward into this new political period.
- Designing our Just Transition Forum, which will be similar to our successful CPP Forums, and convene a broad cross-section of leaders to dialogue and develop strategy on climate, energy, adaptation, and resilience.
- Planning our Grassroots Landscape Assessment, which will analyze the strengths, needs, and opportunities in the grassroots sector and help us develop our strategy to support and build the movement.
