We're Hiring! BEA Strategic Planning Consultant!

BEA seeks an experienced strategic planning consultant to develop a five year strategic plan for the BEA with input from all participants -- prioritizing input from grassroots participants -- to strengthen alignment across the three sectors (grassroots, national organizations, and philanthropy). The consultant will design and facilitate the strategic planning process including the following steps:

  • Developing a project timeline and project plan, with clear goals, roles and responsibilities outlined 
  • Securing input from BEA’s stakeholders, especially our grassroots members, through focus groups, key informant interviews, and surveys
  • Working with BEA leadership to define strategies and timeframes and to develop outcome and process indicators for monitoring and evaluation of the strategic plan
  • Writing the strategic plan in partnership with BEA for approval from the BEA Steering Committee

About the position

Position Requirements: 

  • Experience facilitating strategic planning processes for non-profit organizations, including experience working with member-based/volunteer-led organizations and a clear understanding of the opportunities and challenges inherent to working with such organizations
  • Experience supporting organizations to develop strategic plans that are grounded on anti-racist, equity, and anti-oppression principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Leadership and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google documents
  • Experience working with grassroots and the environmental justice field preferred
  • Experience and familiarity with BEA preferred
