COVID-19 Response
We recognize that COVID-19 is disproportionately affecting those most vulnerable, and increasing the mortality rates for communities with higher pollution exposure and in turn poorer health conditions. The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbates the structural and racial inequalities in target communities and leaves the grassroots environmental justice movement and its people susceptible to harm.
In response to this crisis, BEA is working to leverage both financial support and technical assistance for our partners.
We are pleased to announce the establishment of the BEA Solidarity Survival Fund. This fund will provide flexible funding to grassroots organizations who have already demonstrated success in advancing environmental justice.
In addition, BEA is offering communications and technical support services to our grassroots participants and EJ allies. Learn more here.
